A friend of mine is having a baby and is a big Mary Engelbriet fan. Of course I got the idea to make her a baby quilt with Mary’s fabrics and some blocks of embroidered quotes from Mary’s artwork. Until I have the design worked out, here are some quotes I’ve found for it. Or I could just get this book (Artful Words: Mary Engelbreit and the Illustrated Quote)!

I am also working on a Mary Engelbreit quilt for my mother in law and haven’t come up with a design yet. Any ideas? I’m looking to use the “Bloom Where you are Planted” pillow panels on the quilt.
Oh Goodness-I haven’t done anymore than dream about this quilt! I was planning on hand embroidering the quotes on blocks, but I am thinking now about printing the quotes on fabric and use them that way. I haven’t come up with a layout yet, but I have picked out some fabrics. I haven’t thought to look for pillow panels, that would keep me from doing too much piecing!
